Plumbing and heating in Ireland
Plumbing and heating is one of the largest trades on the Irish company register, and the one most households deal with directly: a boiler that fails in January, a bathroom refit, a leaking tank in the attic. Most firms are small, locally owned limited companies working within a radius of their home town, which is why this directory lets you narrow the list by county.
What to check before you hire
- Gas work must be done by a Registered Gas Installer (RGI). It is illegal in Ireland for anyone else to install, service or repair a gas boiler or appliance. The register is public at rgi.ie and a registered installer carries an ID card.
- Oil boilers are not covered by the RGI scheme, but OFTEC registration is the usual mark of a trained technician.
- Insurance and a written quote. Ask for public liability insurance and a quote that separates labour, parts and VAT.
- Company status. Every entry here shows the company's current status on the CRO register; a dissolved company cannot trade.
How this list is built
Companies appear here when the CRO register classifies their principal activity under NACE code 43.22 (plumbing, heat and air-conditioning installation). Phone numbers, websites and descriptions are taken from each company's own public website; companies with none of these are shown with register data only.
